VOTE for Lizzie gelles ON SEPT 17, 2019 in the Waltham preliminary run-off.
Schools & Education:
Waltham’s schools provide an excellent education to our culturally diverse community. I support building the new high school to enable the city's visionary education plan to come to fruition.
Energy & Sustainability:
We need to start thinking differently. I would like to study the feasibility of a solar farm in Waltham.
We must keep our green spaces open and undeveloped. I believe in the mission of the Waltham Land Trust.
Infrastructure & Roads:
Many roads are crumbling:
~ Bear Hill Road
~ Prospect Hill Road
~ Woodland Road
What other roads are missing from this list? Email me and I will fight for our Ward’s worst roads!
My vision for the Waltham Common includes a variety of expanded uses from spring though fall, for Waltham's children, families, and adults. "Exercise on the Common, anyone?"
Transparency & Visibility:
When elected, I will immediately schedule 4 quarterly town hall meetings for 2020. In addition, I will keep this website up-to-date with pertinent information.
My wife Nina and I have been together for over 20 years and married for two - we were married in the Council Chamber in Waltham City Hall. Our home in Ward 1 has been my home since 1995. I came to Boston for college (Boston College) and never left.
I have worked in the technology field for 20+ years; I currently provide technical support to senior level executives in a leading, local, voice recognition company. My work experience helps me to understand the importance of prioritizing, especially when there are conflicting considerations, stressors and interests.
Nina and I are the proud parents of 3 animals, two of which are rescue dogs with disabilities, from Puerto Rico.
I am a supporter of Friends of the Waltham Library, WATCH CDC, Greater Boston Food Bank, Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School in Lawrence, Planned Parenthood, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, MSPCA, Wags2Riches Dog Rescue, Nine Lives Cat Rescue, Emily’s List and the Pennington School (NJ).
I de-stress by baking and trying to garden, that’s as long as the bunnies don’t eat all my veggies first!
Here's how you can help...
